Resources for Students
This short list is not comprehensive but rather is meant to help you get started....

The best of the best:

International Horn Society
This site is perhaps the best resource for all things horn, including lists of everything you need as a horn player and up to date information on upcoming horn events.

IMSLP Petrucci Music Library

This site is dedicated to sharing music currently available in the public domain, which is A LOT, and you can view, download and print tons of great pieces!

YouTube and Spotify
Search for Horn Solo, and look for clips that look professional. If you are just getting started on horn, I suggest you start with Mozart and Strauss.

Other Great Resources

Fingering Chart or Fingering Chart
Both of these charts provide fingerings for the double horn. If you have a single horn, be sure to use the correct fingering chart for your F single horn OR Bb single horn.

Blank Sheet Music
Design and print your own staff paper! You choose clef, time and key signature, then print. Great for writing your own cadenza or exercises.

Metronome Online
If you want to use your computer as a free metronome, bookmark this accessible and free online metronome for your practice sessions!

Getting Started On the Horn
This page offers several great tips and photos, particularly useful for beginners who aren't sure about how to position their lips and their right hand in the bell. Note that the ideal hand position is different for smaller players.

A Playground For Music Education and Music Theory
Excited to share this awesome music theory resource with you! Special thanks to horn student Greer, who kindly suggested I add this in-depth great resource!

Musical Glossary For Kids
A big thank you to Ms. Annie P. and all her students, especially Jessica! They have found this resource page useful, and kindly suggested I add this great resource for musical terms! :)

Performance Tips for Young Musicians

Many thanks to Ben-- who always thinks about being well-prepared and wants to share this valuable resource! This website offers many tips geared to the learning musician!
